The growing alienation of American, Israeli, and Palestinian youth from each other, from their dysfunctional political cultures, and the prospect of a brighter future, is of paramount concern to Heart of a Nation.

Our mission includes the engagement of a vanguard of young change-makers from each of these societies to work inter- generationally with veteran change-makers and contemporary activists to bring about meaningful improvements in the political culture of each society.

We’ve identified young people in all three societies who seek mentoring and comprehensive training in how to best contribute to their respective civil societies.

They see real value in working alongside others and sharing best practices both internationally and inter-generationally.

They recognize that veterans have an enormous amount of accumulated experience; that contemporary activists have valuable perspectives on how their current efforts are making inroads or falling short of their objectives; while emerging change-makers bring their generation’s idealism and unique attributes such as challenging reductive binaries.

Our current activities include running workshops and semester-long courses with young people in all three societies. 

We are also developing organizational partnerships with institutions that can help us recruit students, provide faculty, and serve as professional horizons for our graduates. All this with an eye towards the launch of an Intergenerational Changemaker Academy within a year.

We believe that this is the best approach to keep hope alive, safeguard these societies’ most promising young leaders from cynicism and the extremism, and strengthening interdependent civil societies that can contribute best practices to each other’s advancement.
