How War Affects Identity and Aspirations:

Jewish and Palestinian Teens From Israel Compare Perspectives

October 7th and its aftermath left an indelible mark on the youth of Israel, both Jewish and Palestinian.

For two and a half months, Jewish and Palestinian teens from a number of Israeli communities were encouraged to write about their identities and feelings. Meeting weekly to share their work with one another and compose poetry together these young people forged a unique and unexpected bond.

Heart of a Nation had the privilege of hosting six of these remarkable students, four Jewish and two Palestinian, as well as their facilitators Steven Aiello and Amal Buqai.
