Jamal Alkirnawi
Jamal Alkirnawi currently serves as CEO of A New Dawn in the Negev, a non-profit organization which works to enable young Israeli Bedouins academically, entrepreneurially, and culturally. Previously, he served as Academic Counselor for Arab Students at Ben-Gurion University, and Research Coordinator in Israel and Palestine for Field Evaluation of Peace Education at Heidelberg University. Jamal has also developed and coordinated afterschool programs for at-risk children in unrecognized Bedouin villages and worked to promote Bedouin rights and communication with Israeli society. He also served as Chairman of Ossim Shalom, a coalition of Jewish and Arab social workers who embrace the interdependence of peace, welfare and human rights. Jamal is the recipient of many honors and awards, including the Israeli Hope Prize and Ricanati Prize, and his work has been recognized by the United Nations.
