Said Hamad, Regional Affairs
Said Hamad currently serves as Director of the International Liaison Office of Hebron University. A career diplomat, now retired, he served as the Chief Representative of the Palestinian General Delegation in Canada and as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Mexico. Said was also Deputy Chief of the PLO Mission in the United States from 1994 through 2005. After the signing of the Oslo Accords, he served as a consultant to Builders for Peace, formed under the auspices of then-Vice President Al Gore. A specialist in North American and Middle East affairs, with a focus on public diplomacy, political analysis, and cross-cultural dialogue, Said has led political, academic, business and cultural delegations, lectured in the US, Mexico, Belize, and Canada, and frequently appeared in North American and international media.
